Curbside Management Action Plan
Making the Best Use of Our Curb Space
In Atlanta, curb spaces are the front door to your grocery store, your bus, your Uber, and even your home. It's where your Amazon delivery takes place and where you park your car during a night out in Downtown. Over the years, curbside activity has expanded and accelerated along our City's busiest corridors. Keeping pace with Atlanta's growth requires dedicated focus on curbside management.
In partnership with Midtown Alliance, Central Atlanta Progress developed the Atlanta Curbside Management Action Plan. The plan includes strategies to improve curbside flexibility and operations through reformed policies and enhanced physical infrastructure while prioritizing safety, equity, and access.
A foundational element of the plan was the development of curbside typologies. These typologies help prioritize uses at the curb based on land use, available right-of-way, and future transportation plans. To view a storymap of the typologies, click here.
The plan is premised on extensive public and stakeholder engagement. For content from the prior public workshops, click here.
By focusing on organization and enforcement, improved curbside management can turn Edgewood Avenue (and every street) into a safer and more efficient place to be.
