#12 Design Wider Edgewood Ave Sidewalks

The sidewalks along Edgewood Ave are narrow, and pedestrian volumes are steadily increasing — a result of the street’s draw as a destination for food, drink, and culture. Changing the street’s cross section is a costly endeavor because of the need for design and construction. This project is intended to fund design in order to make construction “shovel ready” when subsequent funding is available.

Result: Construction plans will be developed to capture key streetscape enhancement elements, such as wider sidewalks, street trees, green infrastructure, and designated amenity zones for sidewalk dining, bike parking, and dock mobility device hubs. Once the design plans are complete, the project will be positioned to be highly competitive for subsequent construction resources within the City.
