Details

The Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) is requesting review and feedback on P.I. 0017994 - South Downtown Pedestrian Safety Enhancements – Peachtree St SW. We appreciate the public’s participation in the process. This is a proposed streetscape project located in Downtown Atlanta on Peachtree Street SW between Alabama Street and SR 154/Trinity Avenue.

The project's goal is to create a pedestrian-oriented street with generous sidewalk dimensions designed for flexible use while ensuring a streetscape environment that benefits all users, including ADA accessible conditions, opportunities for sidewalk dining, and designated space for curbside activities like commercial deliveries and passenger drop-off zones.

Construction for the project would require off-site detours for approximately 24 weeks (8 weeks per block).

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 99 Broad St SW, Atlanta, GA, 30303, ADID will hold a Public Information Open House (PIOH) concerning the project listed above. The purpose of this PIOH is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the project, ask questions, and comment on the project. The Open House will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It will be informal, and the public is invited to attend anytime during these hours. There will be no formal presentation. A court reporter will be available to allow the public an opportunity to make verbal comments about the project. The meeting site is accessible to persons with disabilities.

Additionally, ADID will place information about the proposed project at www.AtlantaDowntown.com/peachtree-sw. The information on the website will be provided in tandem with the in-person meeting while allowing the public to review the proposed project, provide feedback, or write in with questions in lieu of attending the in-person PIOH. Comments will be accepted concerning this project until Saturday, September 21, 2024. Written statements may be submitted to Stacy Grolimund via email at sgrolimund@atlantadowntown.com.
