The Auburn Avenue Research Library, in collaboration with Atlanta Chapter of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, will host Pay, Professionalism, and Respect: A Call for Standards in the Care Industry. This community dialogue will examine and honor the history and legacy of activist Dorothy Lee Bolden, The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is the nation’s leading voice for dignity and fairness for the millions of domestic workers in the United States, most of whom are women. In 1968, using the knowledge of her years as a domestic worker, and her experiences as a community activist, Ms. Bolden Thompson organized the National Domestic Workers Union of America, Inc., which successfully improved the wages and working conditions of domestic workers in Atlanta. This event is free and open to the public at 101 Auburn Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30303.
