Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), Georgia’s largest and most experienced non-profit working to end domestic violence, will conclude its 11th annual Teen Summit virtually on Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and will feature workshops and teen-led sessions to give parents and teens an improved understanding of the ingredients that make up respectful relationships, as well as how to recognize the warning signs and patterns of dating violence.

This second session, titled “Believe and Act,” will continue the conversation of believing in the reality of teen dating violence by exploring love languages, the success of advocacy causes and hearing more impactful survivor stories. The “Act” workshops will engage attendees with conversations for male allies, reproductive justice and speaking with undocumented survivors of dating violence. The keynote address will be delivered by Anne-Marie Brown, LCSW, MSW, MCAP, CIP, ICADC, director of the Childhood Trauma Response Program at the Center for Child Advocacy.

Teen Summit is completely free and offers many educational workshops, including:
• Act to Change your Community: An Introduction to Transformative, Gender and Reproductive
Justice
• Believe in Advocacy Across Cultures: Understanding Cultural Differences in Dating Violence
• Act Alongside your Male Peers: Recruiting Men as Allies to End Dating Violence

PADV is an organization that has served metro Atlanta since 1977 and is currently the largest nonprofit domestic violence agency in Georgia. Its mission is to end the crime of intimate partner violence and empower its survivors. PADV helps to transform the lives of approximately 20,000 women and children every year through emergency intervention, education, violence prevention and longā€term advocacy.

This event is part of PADV’s Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program, led by Jenani Srijeyanthan, PADV’s Coordinator of Dating Violence Prevention, and Samantha Macedo, PADV’s Vice President of Prevention & Outreach Services.
