This is the first workshop in a two-part series on NVivo qualitative data analysis software.
Workshop Topics
-- Getting to know the NVivo workspace
-- Exploring different types of data types/files that can be analyzed
-- Basic coding of text-based files
-- Using Queries and Automated features to explore and code your data
-- Recording comments and ideas
Prerequisites: Basic understanding of qualitative research methods is suggested, but not required. Watching this short tutorial on coding qualitative data before attending the workshop is recommended.
NOTE:
-- This is the first workshop in a two-part series (NVivo 2 is the second).
-- Mac files are provided for the workshops, but the workshops use the Windows version -- differences in interface, functionality, and features may make it difficult to follow along with the Windows workshop if you are using a Mac. We do not offer workshops/recordings on the Mac version due to having no Mac access to do so. If you are a GSU faculty, staff, or students and need training for the Mac version of NVivo, please directly contact Mandy Swygart-Hobaugh, Ph.D.
-- Please read our Workshops ~ Etiquette & Policies page for pertinent information to your workshop attendance.
Presenter: Mandy Swygart-Hobaugh, Ph.D., Data Services Librarian and member of the Library's Research Data Services Team
