Details
Grab your summer fling or longtime love and get to Oakland Cemetery for a unique outdoor date night – Love Stories of Oakland: Summer Date Night is back by popular demand! Enjoy more than 20 tour stops through Oakland’s Victorian garden cemetery as we recount the loves, lives, and losses of Atlantans of days past. Love Stories of Oakland also examines the symbolism of love and devotion found on monuments, headstones, and mausoleums throughout the grounds.
75-minute long tours will take place at 5:30, 5:45, 6:00, 6:15, 7:00, 7:15, and 7:30 p.m.
The 7:30 Love Stories tour will feature a special accessible route through Oakland Cemetery. Perfect for visitors with mobility needs, the 7:30 tour route will take flat and smooth pathways that are accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. We will also have three open golf cart seats available on a first come, first served basis for those with mobility issues. Please email Marcy Breffle at mbreffle@oaklandcemetery.com to reserve your seat.
Arrive at Oakland’s Bell Tower at least 15 minutes before the start of your tour to check in and enjoy a 10 percent discount in the Museum Shop. Grab a complimentary drink on the porch before your tour and shop a unique collection of Atlanta photos from Clay Fisher, a local photographer and artist.
Make it an evening to remember with a post-tour dinner date at Agave and Petit Chou, our community partners. See details below. Reservations are highly encouraged.
Note: Parking inside the cemetery is limited, so please consider parking in the lot outside of Oakland’s front gate or on surrounding side streets.
