WHEN SCHOOL IS OUT, CAMP IS IN!
We are here to engage and excite your young learners ages 5-11 during Fall Breaks.
These hands-on programs allow campers to visit animals on grounds, explore biofacts, and take part in science experiments and demonstrations. Campers will learn about the biology and behaviors of amazing creatures, the problems many animals face in the wild, and will discover ways to help wildlife and wild habitats. Campers should provide their own snacks, lunches, and water bottles.
UPCOMING DATES:
October 9-13, 2023
November 20-22, 2023

THEMES: Each week campers embark on a different Zoo expedition, exploring wildlife and wild places. From Special FX to What a Waste!, participants will be engaged in ways they can save wildlife and wild places.
October 9 – 13: Special FX: How do spiders spin webs and snails produce slime? How can hummingbirds fly backwards and even upside down? Why do vinegarroons and spitting cobras shoot fluid instead of injecting it? Come explore nature’s own special effects, no computer generation required! Campers will engage in hands-on activities to explore the hows and whys of some of nature’s most fascinating adaptations.
November 20 – 22: What a Waste!: From crop milk for nourishing offspring to seed-dispersing poop, join us as we dive into the awesome, multifunctional world of animal waste products. Campers will discover not only what we can learn from animal waste, but also some of the creative ways humans have found to repurpose it while conserving our Earth’s natural resources.
