Space Race Film Screening

Each week we’ll offer different themes related to famous African Americans and their contributions to the world. Activities and giveaways will be held throughout the building every weekend from 12 pm to 5 pm.

Week 1: Black History 

Travel through the history of African Americans in America from 1619 to 2024. Play history games and join in a scavenger hunt within our galleries for an interactive experience. 

Week 2: Black Activism

Learn about the countless known and unknown activists who fought for equality in America. Make protest posters, play games, and help create a mural of a famous Civil Rights icon. 

Week 3: Black Art 

Can you name more than one famous African American artist? Explore the many ways that African Americans have contributed to the culture of America through art and poetry. 

Week 4: Black Science

Most of us have seen the film Hidden Figures, which tells the story of NASA scientists Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson, and Dorothy Vaughn, but do you know of any more African American scientists? Learn more about their contributions through activities and games.
