Honoring the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop and in collaboration with Phyllis Iller LLC, Queens Public Library, The Gates Preserve, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services the Auburn Avenue Research Library will host Around the Way Dreams by renowned Atlanta photographer Melissa Alexander.

Around the Way Dreams is an open-ended visual exploration of the lived experiences of Black people documenting the nuanced and varied meanings of Hip Hop culture’s iconic phrase “around the way"?

Melissa Alexander, owner and lead photographer of Phyllis Iller creates worlds where Black people thrive through portraits, interactive portrait pop-ups, and experimental documentary films.
