The Auburn Avenue Research Library in collaboration with The African Film & Arts Foundation inc, gears up for its highly anticipated third Annual African Film Festival Atlanta. This event will be held as a hybrid format, seamlessly integrating both virtual and physical experiences across diverse locales within the metro Atlanta area. The in-person screenings will take place at The Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History, Tara Cinemas and Studio Movie Grill in Alpharetta.

The themes explored in the films submitted this year range from migration, the Chibok girls, being African in America, LGBTQ+ stories from the continent and child trafficking for war. The Festival received 150 film submissions from 33 different countries. Out of these, a carefully chosen collection of 65 films will be showcased during the 2023 edition. We worked with a film selection committee made up of a group of dedicated movie enthusiasts and Film industry professionals who closely watched and evaluated all the films submitted, and we selected the most outstanding group of films. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering dedication, enthusiasm, and unparalleled skill that our committee members have demonstrated.
