LOVE OUR EARTH; Earth Day 2025
April 23, 2025
Celebrating Earth Day by bringing Native Plants to Hardy Ivy Park.

Native Plants In celebration of Earth Day 2025, the Atlanta Downtown team partnered with Kindred Lane to transform Hardy Ivy Park with native plants. Compost Now provided all of the fertilizer that our wonderful volunteers needed. We want to give thanks to the teams at Truist, Georgia State, Zeller, St.Luke's, and the Five Points Garden, who all got their hands dirty to make the improvements!

The incredibly talented Chelsea Szegidewicz serenaded the Earth enthusiasts with an uplifting and enjoyable set list while Mocha Pops gave away frozen treats. We were thrilled to offer the first 100 visitors to Hardy Ivy Park a free plant to start their own garden at home.

Native plants revitalize our urban park and are incredibly important to our ecosystem.
Planting native plants in your outdoor spaces is a meaningful step to growing health and wellness.
Attracting pollinators and supporting local biodiversity while beautifying spaces.
Creating educational living spaces with restorative impact.
Helping to combat the insect population decline (the number of insects has declined 45% in the past 4 decades)
Supporting crucial pollinators in urban settings
Reducing maintenance costs by up to 75% as native plants require minimum care, chemicals, or an irrigation system.

This Earth Day celebration in Hardy Ivy Park to plant a native plant garden was part of the ongoing Downtown Native Plant & Wellness Initiative. Next month, Delta Airlines will plant a native plant garden in another section of Hardy Ivy Park. This will continue the growth and impact of the native plants and wellness program.
