#BeDowntown for Father's Day Weekend

June 06, 2024

From June 15-16, take the family Downtown to celebrate Dad, where there is plenty to see, do and eat!

Father’s Day Dining Specials

It wouldn’t be a holiday without a special meal, right? Whatever Dad’s got an appetite for, one of downtown’s many restaurants will make sure he's covered. Treat him to a meal with a view at Rise and Dine with the Animals at Zoo Atlanta or get a baby sitter and send the 'rents to Sear After Dark at the Marriott Marquis or out to enjoy the meal and drink specials at By George at the Candler Hotel.

For the Dad with a sweet tooth, try The Yard Milkshake Bar and order a Holy Cannoli—a June-only special. Looking for a family meal? Check out Family Food Fest Atlanta, a multicultural Father's Day charity fundraiser and food-tasting celebration! New South Kitchen's Bourbon and Bones Father's Day Brunch also welcomes diners of all ages. No matter where you go downtown, it will be easy to fill up on a great meal, complete with quality family time.

Make It a Family Day

If you're looking to enjoy the weekend with the whole family, you have plenty of opportunities downtown. Celebrate Juneteenth early at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights or at the Juneteenth Family Festival at Oakland Cemetery. For the little ones, check out Father's Day at the Children's Museum of Atlanta with a special storytime and crafts.

Get outside with a Free Yoga Class on the Broad Street Boardwalk (all ages welcome) or by exploring the 5th Annual Digital Exhibition by Arts & Entertainment Atlanta. Then, enjoy walking or biking down a car-free Peachtree Street at Atlanta Streets Alive!

Ideas for Your Sports-Loving Dad

Take your soccer-loving Dad to an Atlanta United game versus Houston Dynamo on June 15th, and receive a special Atlanta United tailgate chair for him to enjoy all season-long. Busy on the 15th? This special package is also available for the June 29th game versus Toronto!

More of an American Football fan? The College Football Hall of Fame is likely more his speed: check out the limited-run exhibit, Big Ten: Coast-to-Coast, which will offer a captivating exploration of the rich history and expansive influence of the Big Ten Conference. Plus, on June 16th Dads get free admission and the first 100 Dads get a $25 gift card from The Home Depot.

Parent's Night Out

Sometimes the best Father's Day (or Mother's Day!) gift is a night off. Luckily, Zoo Atlanta has you covered with their Kids Night Out program on June 15th: send your kids to the Zoo for a wildly fun and educational evening with trained Educators, plus a pizza dinner (designed for children ages 5-11).

While the kids are occupied, parents can enjoy a dinner at one of the many fine dining options downtown. Then, they can see a show at the Atlanta Magic Theater, full of comedy, close-up and stage magic, mentalism and tons of audience involvement.
