Atlanta Downtown Launches Retail Ready Business Accelerator

 

Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) is pleased to announce that applications are now open to product-based small businesses to apply for a 12-week program that includes technical and financial resources focused on leasing and operating a retail storefront. This innovative program will select 15 dedicated applicants who aspire to open or expand their business in Downtown Atlanta.

 

• Applicants may apply here through July 24, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. EST.
• Cohort selection takes place on August 9, 2024, applicants will be notified via email.
• The program runs August 20, 2024 – December 3, 2024, with classes held biweekly on Tuesdays, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. EST.
• There will be an in-person Graduation and Pitch Party in December.
• Graduates will receive up to $3,500 in grant support.

 

Retail Ready Business Accelerator participants will engage in live, virtual classes built around business planning, marketing strategies, visual merchandising and leasing a commercial storefront. Program components also include in-person tours, connections to Downtown Atlanta landlords and funders, and up to $3,500 in grant funding to support their business growth.

 

“Product-based entrepreneurs power so much of Atlanta’s economy,” said Alena Green, Director of Economic Development for Atlanta Downtown. “This initiative will ensure these makers have the resources they need to activate vacant storefronts and enhance Downtown Atlanta retail experience for all.”

 

The application process is now open, and interested product-based small businesses are encouraged to apply. Preference for minority and women-owned businesses, and for businesses with an active City of Atlanta business license.
