Woodruff Park in downtown Atlanta is a natural gathering spot, and for the next three months it will also be a winter art exhibit.
PRISM: Winter Lights at Woodruff Park will celebrate the season with “vibrant, light-based sculptures by artists from around the country.”
The sculptures will be spread throughout the six-acre park and will enhance existing landmarks, like the International Peace Fountain and the geometric ATL sculpture.
Artists featured at the park are: Megan Mosholder, Sara Santamaria, David Baerwalde & Alex Martinez, Jason Peters, Bradley Bowers, Gavin Bernard, Dana Haugaard, Alicia Renee Ball, and Sara Jimenez.
The free exhibit kicks off 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. There will be music by Ree de la Vega and refreshment for purchase.
Arts and Entertainment Atlanta will also participate in PRISM by showcasing complementary artwork created by ZooasZoo and Sebastian Monroy on Peachtree Center’s newly installed digital sign at 235 Peachtree St.
Woodruff Park is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. There are parking garages downtown, but the park is best accessed via MARTA or the Atlanta Streetcar.
