Tomorrow Marks Final Day for Advanced Ticket Sales and Optional Bus Tour Ticket Sales Close Out for 2008 Downtown Development Day
October 30, 2008 - Advanced ticket sales for the sixth annual Downtown Development Day will continue through tomorrow, Friday, October 31, at www.atlantadowntown.com for $40. The event will be held on Thursday, November 6, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the new atrium ballroom of the Atlanta Marriot Marquis, located at 265 Peachtree Center Avenue. As of November 1, tickets will still be available on the Web site and sold at the door for $50. Tomorrow is also the last day to secure tickets for the optional bus tour of new Downtown developments, which will take place at 12:45 p.m. (a boxed lunch is included) for an additional $25. All tickets are non-refundable.
The day will commence with remarks from CAP president A.J. Robinson covering the most recent developments and initiatives in Downtown. There will be three concurrent breakout sessions: one taking a look at the economic impact Downtown attractions have brought to the area, a session entitled “Accessing the Opportunities” and one introducing individuals who are investing significantly in real estate in Downtown Atlanta. Other highlights include a development expo, announcement regarding the Downtown Dining District launch and award ceremony for the Third Annual Atlanta Downtown Design Excellence Awards, recognizing innovative and unique design in newly created Downtown spaces across five different categories.
Some of the speakers in the breakout sessions include Doug Shipman, Executive Director, Center for Civil & Human Rights; Tad Leithead, Senior Vice President-Development, Cousins Properties and Prakash Patel, Senior Advisor, Diplomat Companies.
“We are looking forward to another successful program in 2008,” said CAP president A.J. Robinson. “We believe this is a premiere event for those in the real estate community and related sectors who want to get an up close feel for a sub-market that continues to evolve and improve at a rapid pace.” Gold Level sponsors for this year’s event include Allen Plaza, Cousins Properties, Development Authority of Fulton County and Richard Bowers & Company. Silver Level sponsors are AT&T, Balfour Beatty Construction, Georgia Power, Legacy Property Group, Peachtree Center/Americas Capital Partners, Reznick Group and Yates Construction. Bronze Level/In-Kind sponsors are A. Brown-Olmstead Associates, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Atlanta Link, The Schapiro Group and ULI Atlanta.
