New renderings, details show the forthcoming Home Depot Backyard

New details released Monday about the forthcoming Home Depot Backyard at Mercedes-Benz Stadium describe a versatile space that will get plenty of use.

The 11-acre greenspace will be used for tailgating and parking on game days and a range of programming on other days. The full site is 13 acres, including a forthcoming Orange Deck parking garage and hotel.

The new incarnation of the land where the former Georgia Dome once sat is expected to open early this fall. Installation of turf and a 35-foot mirrored soccer ball sculpture will begin this month, a press release said.

Stadium officials have partnered with Tailgate Guys to offer fans access to various gameday packages with amenities such as tents, TV packages, tables and chairs. Access to bellhop services, an onsite concierge and catering will also be available. 

Packages can be reserved on a full-season, multi-game and individual game basis while space is available.
