Intermedix Corp. has picked Atlanta for a division headquarters — a move that will over time create about 100 tech and corporate jobs.

The Nashville, Tenn.-based firm provides technology-enabled professional services and analytics to health care providers, government agencies and businesses.

Intermedix will put its emergency preparedness technology division headquarters in Atlanta, leasing about 20,000 square feet in downtown’s iconic Peachtree Center office development.

The 2.3 million square foot complex, designed by John Portman, includes six office towers and is next to the Peachtree Center MARTA station. The 1960s-era development is in the midst of a major real estate refresh to appeal to millennial workers.

Intermedix develops software that helps government agencies (such as FEMA), hospitals and logistics companies better prepare and respond to emergency events, such as cyberattacks, hurricanes, or terrorist attacks. The Georgia Department of Transportation is a major customer.

Watson is former CEO of Streamline Health, which he relocated from Cincinnati to Atlanta in 2012. Prior to that, Watson was CEO of DocuSys Inc., an Atlanta anesthesia information systems provider.
