Kilpatrick Townsend Expands to Los Angeles

CAP Member, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, expanded into Los Angeles, bringing its number of California offices to five.

The Atlanta-based firm tapped California intellectual property attorneys Larry McFarland, Dennis Wilson and other attorneys formerly with the Keats McFarland & Wilson (KMW) to head its L.A. office. McFarland will serve as office managing partner for the L.A. office.

Kilpatrick Townsend formed two years with the combination of Kilpatrick Stockton and Townsend and Townsend and Crew.

“At the time of the merger in 2011, one of our announced goals was to have an L.A. office,” said Paul M. Aguggia, Kilpatrick Townsend chairman, in a statement. “We evaluated numerous opportunities and our patience was rewarded. Larry McFarland and Dennis Wilson have a terrific reputation in the entertainment, technology, gaming and fashion industries, and we get to fold their expertise into what already is universally ranked as one of the top intellectual property practices in the country.”

Kilpatrick Townsend has 19 offices around the world, including 14 in the United States.
