Georgia Power Receives Highest Customer Satisfaction Ratings
February 13,2013
Southern Co.’s largest subsidiary has the highest customer satisfaction among business accounts, according to an annual survey by J.D. Power and Associates.
Atlanta-based CAP Member, Georgia Power Co., ranks highest among large utilities in the South Region with a score of 695. The average score for the region was 669.
J.D. Power says the overall satisfaction for American utilities among business customers declined from last year. The industry average was a score of 647 on a 1,000-point scale, down 10 points from 2012.
The study was based on interviews with 25,700 U.S. businesses that spend at least $250 monthly on electricity. More than 90 utilities serving 11.7 million businesses were included in the study. Customer satisfaction is measured by examining six factors — power quality and reliability, billing and payment, corporate citizenship, price, communications and customer service.
