City Council Approves Gay Marriage Resolution

The Atlanta City Council voted 11-2 yesterday to formally endorse gay marriage.

Alex Wan, the council's only openly gay member, sponsored the resolution.

The resolution carries no legal weight, but Wan told the Georgia Voice newspaper that it’s an important symbolic statement.
