Atlanta's NASCAR Hall of Fame is an environmentally friendly building that features a "living roof" that reduces the urban heat island effect, breathing new life into its surrounding while offering the look and feel of a race track in-field. The upper roof is designed to reduce power usage by letting the maximum amount of natural light in, but the minimal amount of summer heat.
The outdoor roof deck, located on the south side of the Hall of Fame, offers fresh air exhibits and elevated viewing of Centennial Olympic Park, and is ideally suited for special events.
