Downtown Atlanta Walk There Challenge
October 5-31, 2009
The Downtown Atlanta Walk There Challenge is a FREE program encouraging Downtown Atlanta’s commuters to focus on promoting physical activity and walking Downtown as a means of transportation or just a way to be more active during the day. Contest participants do not have to walk to work to participate; all walking counts, whether it’s at work, at home or elsewhere.
All program participants are asked to log the number of steps they take during the month of October. We provide free pedometers and “walking kits” to all individuals who have registered online for the contest via Commuter Rewards. Participants must be pre-registered in Commuter Rewards to receive a pedometer.
Each week the Downtown TMA will award random Downtown-themed prizes and the Downtown stepper with the most steps logged at the end of October gets a grand prize: a night on the town (Downtown, that is!). The grand prize winner will receive a gift basket of tickets, gift certificates and more, perfect for an intown getaway.

Registration
Registration for the Downtown Atlanta Walk There Challenge is easy!
• Retrieve your designated Commuter Rewards logging site. If your company or building name is not listed, you will log under the general Downtown Commuters site.
• On your logging site, click on 'Registration' and enter the necessary information.
• Log your daily steps. Go to your desingated logging website and click 'Daily Commute Log'. Starting October 6th you will see a question on your logging page that asks how many steps you took the previous day. The question will not appear until October 6th.
**If you are currently registered for Commuter Rewards you do NOT need to re-register to participate.
Rules & Logging Instructions
• October 5th, the competition will begin, so start wearing your pedometer. The pedometer will calculate steps taken throughout your day.
• Each day, log onto your designated Commuter Rewards site (www.logyourcommute.com/DowntownCommuters or your specific company site). You must be registered with Commuter Rewards to receive a free pedometer.
• Each day (beginning October 5th), you will be prompted to enter your step count on your commute log. Enter the number of steps (walked on the previous day) at the bottom of the screen, below the questions about how you got to/from work. After reporting your steps, reset your pedometer to zero. (Walking done outside of the workday and on weekends counts too.)
• If you do not record your steps on the website on the weekend, record the combined total number of steps taken Friday, Saturday and Sunday when you log into the Commuter Rewards website on Monday morning.
• Each week in October, one Downtown Walk There Challenge participant will be chosen at random to receive a prize including tickets to a Downtown attraction/activity. Any participant logging their steps into the on-line system may be selected as a winner!
• Prize winners will be announced no later than the Monday following the completion of the previous contest week.
• Winners cannot win more than once for the weekly prizes during the Downtown Walk There Challenge.
• The Grand Prize winner is the individual Downtown Walk There Challenge participant who logs the greatest number of steps out of all of the in Downtown.
• Participants must report truthfully. We reserve the right to verify steps reported by winners.
