Downtown Parking Assessment Complete; Public Parking Program Kicking Off

August 1,2014

The Downtown Parking Assessment Project, which kicked off last summer, was completed in June.  A primary objective of this project was the creation and implementation of tools that the City and Downtown stakeholders can use immediately to begin addressing questions and issues affecting the view of parking Downtown.  A key recommendation of the project is the development of a ‘Public Parking’ program and the creation of a Downtown parking collaborative with competitively selected private parking facilities.  You can learn more about this effort at atlantapublicparking.com.  The project’s findings and recommendations, developed in large part thanks to Downtown stakeholder participation in the study process, are also available.
