July 21-27, 2008 Mark your calendars and tell co-workers, Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week is just around the corner. This event showcases Downtown Atlanta restaurants with special dining promotions of three-course dinners for $25.00 per person, plus tip, plus tax. July 1, 2008 Downtown is heating up as the Atlanta Dream takes on the 2007 WNBA Champions Phoenix Mercury at 7 pm at Philips Arena. July 4, 2008 The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race has a new finish line this year at the intersection of Juniper and Ponce de Leon.  Participants will then move to the Atlanta Civic Center for the awards ceremony and t-shirt distribution. Street closures will begin around the area on July 2. The 55,000 runners will be cheered by 150,000 spectators and aided by more than 3,000 dedicated volunteers. www.atlantatrackclub.org/at05003.htm

July 4, 2008 Don't miss Atlanta's best fireworks display at Centennial Olympic Park's 4th of July Celebration. The family-fun begins early with children's activities from noon - 5 p.m. including arts and crafts, face painting, performances and more.  The free musical entertainment starts at 5 p.m. on the Great Lawn, with performances by Stokeswood, 911 Band and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. July 4-6, 2008 The Atlanta Pride Celebration has also moved Downtown to the Atlanta Civic Center utilizing indoor and outdoor venues.
